TED.COM stands for 'Technology, Entertainment, and Design. It's sonne.ca's latest communication champion. This Internet website describes its content as 'Inspired talks by the world's greatest thinkers and doers'. I think that is a very good description of what TED is all about.

This is an elegantly displayed and functional website full of rich video content of some of the foremost personalities and innovators in their respective fields. The content is easily navigated and is categorized by themes such as 'technology, entertainment, design, business, science, culture, arts, and global issues.

In 1984 TED started out as an annual conference bringing together people from those three worlds of technology, entertainment, and design. Each speaker for a TED conference is given 18 minutes to tell their story, and most do a wonderful job of it.

The TED.COM site makes the best talks and performances from the conference available online to the public for free. From a communications standpoint they do a tremendous job of spreading ideas which is what their mission is all about. This is one of the most interesting and enjoyable websites on the Internet today.
